# Head

Face rig, cartoon eyes and mouth, eye tracker and head squash.

Find these under **Controls > Head Settings**.

## Face Rig

**Face Rig** is the master switch for the face and is **on** by default. While it is on, an extra group of face controls appears under it. While it is off, those controls are hidden.

| Control           | Default            | What it does                                                                                                                       |
| ----------------- | ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Eye Toggle** | On | Turns the eyes on or off. |
| **Mouth Toggle** | On | Turns the mouth on or off. |
| **Face Fluid** | 1 (slider, 0 to 1) | Makes the face bones react to other bones, which gives the face a fluid look. At 0 it has no influence. |
| **Mouth M** | On | Shapes the mouth into an M when you lower the mouth open/close control. |
| **Mouth F** | Off | Same as Mouth M, but shapes the mouth into an F. |
| **Cartoon Eyes** | Off | Switches the eyes to the cartoon style. |
| **Cartoon Mouth** | Off | Switches the mouth to the cartoon style. Its colors are set under [Materials](/jabe-rig-wiki/documentation/features/materials.md). |
| **Eyetracker** | Off | Makes the eyes always follow the controller. |
| **Teeth Follow** | On | Turns on or off the teeth following the mouth controller. |

## Head toggles

These three sit below the face group and are always visible.

| Control                  | Default | What it does                                                 |
| ------------------------ | ------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Head Squash** | Off | Enables squash on the head. |
| **Global Head Rotation** | Off | Turns the body's influence on the head's rotation on or off. |
| **Texture Deform** | Off | Deforms the texture with the facial controllers. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://jabe.gitbook.io/jabe-rig-wiki/documentation/features/head.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
